Mark sworn in as Senator for 6th time


ABUJA—Former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, was yesterday, sworn in for a sixth record time as a senator.

The swearing-in, which was conducted by his successor, Senate President Bukola Saraki, was done amid an uncommon solidarity as the senators gave Senator Mark a standing ovation.

As soon as the senator, who wore white agbada with Idoma cap, walked in, the senators clapped as they welcomed him back into the senatorial wings with shouts of the youngest and most ranking.

Mark was sworn in at exactly 11 am in the hallowed chamber after taking the traditional oath of office and allegiance.

After he was sworn in, he walked to Saraki and shook him.

Also sworn in as a senator was Ahmad Salam Ogembe, PDP, Kogi Central senatorial district.  He took over from Mohammed Ohiare.
