Road Construction: 5.88 Kilometres Alisime-Oza-Nogogo, Other, Underway


DELTA State Government has commenced the construction of 5.88 kilometres Alisime-Oza-Nogogo Road in Ika South Local Government Area and 2.3kilometres Owa -Oyibu’s Palace Road Project in Ika North East Local Government Area, as the State Commissioner for Works, Chief James Augoye, directed that Engineers attached to the Ministry of Works will henceforth supervise the asphalting of roads awarded to contractors, to ensure compliance on work specification and standard.

The Commissioner, who also inspected the on-going old Lagos /Asaba Dualisation Road project in the area, commended the quality of work done, but urged the contractor to increase the pace of work on the project.

Inspecting the Alisime-Oza-Nogogo Road, where earth work and construction of drainage system has commenced, Chief Augoye expressed happiness at the pace and quality of work within few weeks, urging the contractor to maintain the pace.

He noted that the presence of access road across the agrarians and local clay chalk producing communities will boost the socio-economic development of the people.

At the Owa-Oyibu on-going Palace Road project awarded on the 26th of October this year and slated to be completed within eight weeks, he commended the contractor for quality and speedy operation and urged them to sustain the pace of work.

The Commissioner, while inspecting the on-going old Lagos/Asaba Road Project, urged the contractor to increase the pace of asphalting of the road, now that favourable condition has set in.

In his reaction, the Operations Manager of the old Lagos/Asaba Road project, Engr. Charles Makhounl, assured the government that work will be completed on the project before the dry season ends.

The contractor handling the Owa-Oyibu Palace Road project, assured the state government of its readiness to complete the project according to specification and on time, as the site Engineer, Chris Okobi promised to execute the project within eight weeks.
