Delta Governorship Primaries: Asagba of Asaba, Ogeah, BRV congratulate Okowa.

The Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Chike Edozien, has congratulated Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on his emergence as Delta State Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) Governorship candidate in next year's general elections.

Prof. Edozien, who is the chairman of Anioma Congress, said that Okowa's victory in the governorship primary was a vindication of the Philip Asiodu led committee set up by the congress.

He said that Okowa was the People's choice and urged all Deltans to support him in the governorship election scheduled for February 21, 2015.
In a related development, Anioma Media Professionals have also congratulated Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and all the ethnic nationalities in Delta State, who voted for justice and fairness.

Also, the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chike Ogeah, has described Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial primary election as a worthy flag bearer.

Ogeah, in a statement, said: "As was the case in the November 29, 2014 primaries into Delta State House of Assembly, the governorship primaries of the PDP held on Monday, 8th December, 2014, lived up to the template of transparency and absence of rancour set in the earlier primaries.

"At the end of the exercise, Senator Okowa emerged victorious by popular vote. We congratulate the distinguished senator on his well deserved victory. With the Delta State PDP now through with credible primaries, we urge all Deltans to imbibe the virtues of tolerance and fair play exhibited by the contestants.

" We also commend all the contestants for upholding the party's tenets of fairness, discipline, loyalty and camaraderie throughout the campaigns and actual voting.
"That more than 20 distinguished Deltans, each eminently qualified to lead the State, took active part in the PDP governorship primary is a testament to the confidence in the electoral process engendered by the leadership of Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, governor of Delta State, who created a level playing field for the emergence of the people's choice.

"This has proved that it is a bastion of the PDP and is primed to continue to sustain the atmosphere of peace and development in the coming dispensation. "

Meanwhile, Benin River Vanguard, BRV, has hailed the emergence of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate for Delta State.

A statement by the the group's National Coordinator, Mr. Anthony Okotie, described Okowa's victory at the just concluded PDP governorship primary in Asaba, as a sign of better days ahead.

Okotie said that the overwhelming victory of Okowa confirms that he is a grassroots politician admired by the generality of Deltans.
Okotie recalled that in 2007 when the incumbent Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan emerged as PDP flagbearer, Senator Okowa was closely behind him.
