In an effort to thank its customers one Canadian bank turned
ATMs into thanking machines that give free money and remarkable gifts.
The customers were given some gifts, including trips, memorable experiences and fulfilled dreams
A
video showing a cash machine talking to customers and giving them free
cash and gifts has become an internet sensation. The video that starts
with the following words, “Sometimes you just want to say thank you. So
we turned ATMs into Automated Thanking Machines” has already been viewed
nearly 3 million times.
Marvelous ATMs surprised customers by
talking to them and addressing them by name. Then the customers were
given some gifts, including trips, memorable experiences and fulfilled
dreams.
We wanted to say thank you to our customers in a way that we felt was unique and distinctive
Among
the 12 lucky specifically pre-selected customers were one single mom
who had been unable to take her kids on vacation and was given a trip to
Disneyland and two $1,000 cheques for their education.
Other ATMs of TD Canada Trust bank gave every customer a $20 bill
An
elderly woman received tickets to Trinidad so she could visit her
daughter who is fighting with cancer. And a die-hard Toronto Blue Jays
fan was offered the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at a game.
Our local branch employees know their customers really well and often have close relationships with them
Other
ATMs of TD Canada Trust bank gave every customer a $20 bill last Friday
as a thank you for their loyalty. Chris Stamper, a senior
vice-president at the bank, said:
“Our local branch employees
know their customers really well and often have close relationships with
them. Some have been through tough times and some are just wonderfully
kind and caring people. They had no idea what was in store. We wanted to
say thank you to our customers in a way that we felt was unique and
distinctive, and that actually gave back to our customers.”
