Ubulu-Uku Monarch’s Death, Big Loss To Deltans –Ukah
THE murder of the Obi of Ubulu-Uku kingdom, Edward Ofulue III has been described as a big loss to the people of Ubulu-Uku in particular and Deltans in general.
The Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the people of Ubulu-Uku kingdom.
Mr. Ukah, who was accompanied by the chairman, board members and management of Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba, said the gruesome murder of the obi was condemnable as it was the height of disrespect for the traditional institution, promising that government would do everything possible to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Mr. Ukah, however enjoined the people of Ubulu-Uku kingdom to take solace in the fact that the king did not die, but is resting in the bosom of the Lord.
He commended the people for maintaining the peace, affirming that the people of Ubulu-Uku were known to be peace loving and good hosts.
The commissioner noted that since the installation of the Delta Broadcasting Service sub-station in Ubulu-Uku, there had never been an incident of vandalism.
Speaking in the same vein, the chairman, DBS Board, Chief Michael Osuoza, enjoined the people of Ubulu-Uku to remain peaceful, saying they were not alone in their grief.
He commended them for being wonderful hosts, stressing that they had been able to safeguard every government investment in the area, especially DBS sub-station.
Chief Osuoza assured them of the continued support of government, assuring that the Okowa administration would do everything possible to bring the needed development to the community.
Responding, the Ojigwu of Ubulu-Uku, Chief Samuel Nwabuoke and the secretary of the Obi-in-Council, Mr. Joseph Obazee, commended the commissioner, board members and management staff of DBS Asaba for the visit in this time of mourning.
He said it was a show of love which the people of Ubulu-Uku would not forget in a hurry, stressing that the demise of the obi came as a rude shock to the people.
