Ojukwu’s Son Applauds President Buhari

Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a son of Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for the reforms in the telecommunication sector.

The Punch reports that the son of the late Igbo leader who is the sole administrator of the Nnewi-North local government area of Anambra state applauded the Buhari-led administration during a town hall meeting on Tuesday, November 10. The meeting was organised by the commission for telecommunications subscribers in the area.

He noted that the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had initiated programmes to educate subscribers in the area.

Ojukwu said that the programme started after the inauguration of President Buhari and it was a testimony to the administration’s quest and desire to improve the lives of the people especially those in the rural areas.

The NCC warned phone users not to give their phones to strangers so as not to be implicated in the eventuality of a crime linked to the phone.

Femi Atoyebi, the deputy director of consumer affairs bureau of the commission who represented the vice chairman explained that the essence of the SIM registration was to enable security agencies to trace a phone if it is used when a crime is committed.

Ojukwu’s son’s praise of the Buhari administration comes at a time when pro-Biafra agitators are clamouring for an independent Biafra state.
