Biafra: IPOB Will be Worse Than Boko Haram if… – Father Mbaka
SPIRITUAL Director of Catholic Adoration Ministries Enugu, Rev. Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka, has given one condition on which he would support the ongoing pro-Biafra protests in the South-East and part of the South-South.
Mbaka said he would only support the agitation if those behind it come out to lead the struggle
He warned that the protests are capable of snowballing into a huge crisis of thescale associated with Boko Haram and more if not curtailed now.
Fr. Mbaka spoke during the launch of new products, Rapha Groundnut oil, Rapha Soya Oil and Rapha Carbonated Drinks, produced by his company, Aqua Rapha Investments Limited. He is chairman of the company.
Speaking, he lambasted those still fueling the pro- Biafra protests, saying it was capable of scaring away investors from the region.
He had, earlier in the week, incurred the wrath of Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) when he described the protests as ‘evil’.
His words: “If this nation collapses, it is on us all. If things go well, it is for our own good. I want you to know that if there is any of you here that is oppressed, we are being oppressed too. What I am begging is that things should be done in the right way. Because, if we continue like this, all the visions the governors of Igboland have, vision for employment and economic diversification, will be frustrated.
“No investor can come into a city filled with crises. So, wherever you are, saying, ‘let them (the protesters) move on’, the only way I can support it is when you join them. So, please, I am begging all of us, let us join hands and develop our place, Igboland.”
He also assured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who was at the launch that his company would always support his administration.
Also speaking, Ugwuanyi commended him for using his company to provide 4,500 jobs for the people of the state.
Ugwuanyi noted that the state government is interested in such business initiatives, which create jobs for the people, as well as turn around the state’s economic fortunes, pointing out that there are enormous benefits that would accrue from his company.
