Obasanjo bags TASUED’s doctorate degree in political science
The Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Prof. Oluyemisi Obilade has said that the university would confer honorary doctorate degree in political science on former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo as part of its 10th Anniversary and 2015 Convocation ceremony.
The Vice Chancellor while disclosing it said that the award was a thank you gesture to the former President under whose tenure the university was licensed on November 28, 2005.
Obasanjo and other notable personalities would bag the award as over one thousand students would graduate at the combined 6th and 7th convocation.
While addressing newsmen on the 10th Anniversary and 2015 Convocation ceremonies of the university, Obilade said “ten years is a very important milestone in the annals of a university”.
She also, commended Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his roles in sustaining the institution.
While speaking on the challenges facing the university since she assumed the office two yeas ago, she said the institution needed fund to operate successfully.
She however said in a bid to sustain the institution, the management had resolved to generate extra revenue.
