Leicester City manager, Nigel Pearson has escaped Football Association sanctions after his clash with Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur.

He has however received a letter from the FA reminding him of his responsibilities.

Pearson grabbed McArthur by the throat after being knocked over on the touchline by the midfielder during his side’s 1-0 defeat on Saturday.

He then helped McArthur back on his feet but prevented him from returning to the pitch by grabbing his shirt.

The FA is understood to have decided against taking any action after contacting match officials, who witnessed the incidence, for subsequent enlightenment.
