Scores Of Boko Haram Terrorists Killed In Cameroon
Twenty-four Boko Haram terrorists have been gunned down and killed by soldiers in Cameroon.
According to Cameroonian investigate reporter Chief Bisong Etahoben, the jihadist terrorists were caught out in Wabache by Cameroonian soldiers serving in a multinational joint task force.
The task force killed 24 terrorists, suffering only light casualties in return with two soldiers wounded.
According to Etahoben, Boko Haram militants also launched an attack on Cameroonian army positions in Kerawa, a town which straddles the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The current situation in Kerawa remains unclear.
The recent engagements are the latest in a series of battles between the Islamist terrorists and Cameroonian soldiers, who have been accused of killing civilians caught in the crossfire.
Just last month, Cameroonian army units crossed the border into Nigeria in pursuit of retreating Boko Haram militants.
After entering the village of Kirawa-Jimni, Borno state, the Cameroonians demanded to know where the fleeing terrorists had gone, before opening fire on the unarmed villagers, killing 70.
The governments of Nigeria and Cameroon are continuing to combine their efforts to eradicate Boko Haram under the 2015 West Africa Offensive.
The Islamist terror group has been forced out of major urban areas but remain firmly in control of large tracts of wilderness.
Last month, President Muhammadu Buhari declared that the war against Boko Haram had been “technically won”, despite recent terrorist outrages like the suicide bombing in Maiduguri which killed more than ten children.
