THE COMMISSIONING OF THREE WATER BORE-HOLES IN OWA-ALERO COMMUNITY DONATED BY MR KINGSLEY CHUKWUKA OKUNBOR.

A Lagos based businessman, philantropist and an illustrous Owa son, Mr. Kingsley Chukwuka Okunbor has donated three water bore-holes to his community, Owa-Alero, Ika North-East LGA. The water bore-holes are evenly sited in the four quarters that make up Owa-Alero Community, Idumu-Eboh, Alioye, Alugba and Aliegwe quarters.

Speaking at the commissioning of the three of the bore-holes today, saturday 23rd January, 2016 at Owa-Alero, Mr. Kingsley Okunbor said the need to donate the bore-holes was borne out of his love for his people and the desire to solve the water hardship being suffered by the Owa-Alero people. According to him, this feat will help ameliorate the sufferings of the people while assuring that the one at Aliegwe quarters will be ready for commissioning before the next two weeks.

Mr. Kingsley Okunbor while handing over the bore-holes to the various quarters urged them to ensure adequate protection of the installations and put it in good use with a promise that by the grace of Almighty God, he's bringing a Skills Acquisition Center to the community before the end of the year to help train youths in various skills and crafts that will prepare them for the future and be useful to themselves, the community and the society at large.

Chief Godwin Ogadi, the PDP chaiman, Ika North-East LGA who commissioned the water project lauded Mr. Kingsley Okunbor for his kind gesture. He commended him (Kingsley) for his understanding that charity begins from home. The PDP chairman described Mr. Kingsley Okunbor as a kind gentleman and an illustrous son of Owa kingdom and urged others whom God has also blessed, especially those living outside the community to borrow a leaf from Mr. Kingsley. In his words, "Mr. Kingsley Okunbor has done noble with this feat and I implore others to emulate him, especially those living outside Owa-Alero whom God has also richly blessed".

Chief Ogadi further extended his appreciation to the community elders for the co-operation with their illustrous son and for creating an enabling environment that made the siting of the bore-holes possible.

Dignitaries present at the event includes Chief Godwin Ogadi, PDP chairman, Ika North-East and his entourage, the PDP Women leader, Ward 2, Mrs. Alice Ekomeh, Mr. Emeke Asiwe, Special Assistant on Youths development to Gov. Okowa, Mr. Dantes Odogwu, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the governor, Mr. Jonathan Onwuka, Special Assistant on Community Newspapers to the governor, Pastor Favour Okoh, elders, women and youths.


A spokesperson for the community and Youth leader who gave a vote of thanks on behalf of other quarters, Comr. Ebih Anthony prayed for Mr. Okunbor and expressed great joy for this donation described as being very timely considering the water problem in the community. He assured him that the water bore-holes will be put in good and proper use.
