READ Mikel Obi’s Inspirational Message To His Teammates
Chelsea and Super Eagles midfielder, John Mikel Obi has rallied his club teammates to put together a positive run of results so they can finish the season on a high note.
Mikel made the remarks after Chelsea’s 3 – 0 defeat to Crystal Palace in which he was named Man of the Match for a flawless performance.
The match was Mikel Obi’s second start under Guus Hiddink who is rather fond of the midfielder for his tactical awareness and professional attitude.
The midfielder told Chelsea’s official website: “There are a lot of games to be played and if we can keep putting in these kind of performances the sky is our limit. We need to keep believing but we don’t want to get carried away, we played well but we need to keep working hard in training.
Let’s hope it’s a new year and a new Chelsea. We’ve been disappointed with our results but we’ve shown what type of team we are.”
Mikel Obi also hailed Chelsea fans who backed the team against Crystal Palace with their vocals.
“They’ve been supporting us when it hasn’t been great and stuck by us, we can’t ask for more from them.
“I want to say a big thank you for the support they’ve given us and hopefully we can keep producing this type of performance.”
