West Brom Mocks Odemwingie Over Failed QPR Move (Photos)
English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion have taunted Super Eagles striker Peter Odemwingie for his scandalously failed attempt to force through a move to QPR in 2013.
Naij recalls that on January 31, 2013, Odemwingie was reportedly seen outside Loftus Road in an attempt to sign for Queens Park Rangers, but was refused entry as no offer was accepted for him. He was widely criticised for his attempt to join QPR with Albion chairman saying he acted “unprofessionally”.
Going down memory lanes, the Baggies have taunted the striker’s in-car interview with Sky Sports Sports News from January 31, 2013 where he spoke of his new challenge ahead, only for the move to collapse.
Unsurprisingly, Odemwingie’s career at the Hawthorns never recovered as he returned to the side against Sunderland on February 23 2013 coming on as a substitute in the final few minutes. He was however jeered by some Albion supporters.
The former coach of the Baggies Steve Clarke continued to use Odemwingie as a substitute which caused him to again attack the club on Twitter.
At the end of the season Steve Clarke stated that he expects Odemwingie to leave West Brom in August 2013, which he eventually did
