Okowa Commends Rep Member For Purposeful Representation
DELTA State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has commended the member representing Burutu Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Julius Pondi for his purposeful representation, saying his determination, resilience and focus earned him the PDP ticket and subsequent victory at the election.
Governor Okowa stated this during the thanksgiving service organised by Hon. Pondi to thank God for his victory at the polls and subsequent swearing-in as a federal lawmaker at the Church of God Mission, Ejiyere Zonal Headquarters, Warri.
He noted that Pondi contested the House of Reps election against all odds having contested and lost at the House of Assembly election in 2011, stressing that he needed to thank God for his goodness towards him.
The governor who stressed the need for Christians to give God their lives, added that God was worthy of our praise and worship.
In his remark, the state Deputy Governor, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, thanked the church for their prayers and support which enabled Hon. Pondi get victory at the polls.
He urged the church to continue to pray for the state and the governor as well as the political leadership in order to remain focused in actualising its SMART Agenda for Deltans.
In his testimony, Hon. Pondi said he was thanking God for successfully seeing him through the party primaries and victory at the polls, stressing that it was a big task to have contested for House of Reps Burutu Federal constituency seat.
While thanking the church for their prayers and support, Pondi said he had contested for Burutu 1 constituency seat in 2011 but lost with 33 votes after serving as the Leader of the Burutu Legislative Arm, he added that God was indeed faithful in his life by making him the youngest federal legislator from Delta State.
Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator, Church of God Mission, Ejiyere Zone, Warri, Rev O.J Agbarah, in a sermon tilted “If I Be Your Father Where is Thy Honour”, said God deserves our praise and worship having purchased life for mankind with the blood of his son, Jesus Christ.
He said even biological fathers want their children to honour them, saying that Hon. Pondi had come to honour God with Thanksgiving.
