Woman Slept With Dog While Boyfriend Took Photos

A Delaware woman who allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a dog while her boyfriend snapped photos was arrested Tuesday.

Samantha L. Golt, 24, and James P. Crow, 25, were each charged with one count of felony bestiality and one count of felony second-degree conspiracy.

Troopers received a "canine abuse tip" from a concerned neighbor on Dec. 28, Delaware State Police Master Corporal Gary E. Fournier told The Huffington Post via email. Authorities believe the offense occurred in Golt's Wilford, Del. home sometime between August 31, 2012 and December 29, 2012.

Crow’s photographs were removed from the home as evidence, and a comparison of a driver’s license photo and the seized photographs confirmed Golt’s identity.

On Wednesday, state police issued the couple an order to have no contact with any animal, Delaware State News reported. Authorities contacted the Kent County SPCA when the investigation began.

Beth Butts, Kent County SPCA spokesman, told Delaware State News that the shelter “feels like any level of animal abuse is absolutely abhorrent. Animals need to have protection the same as children do in that they are innocent and can’t defend themselves.”

SPCA enforcement officer Maj. Brian Whipple added that in his six years with the SPCA, he has seen only a handful of reported bestiality cases, but “nothing has ever been prosecuted.”

Golt and Crow were released after posting $12,000 bail apiece. According to NBC10 Philadelphia, Golt refused to comment when contacted Friday morning.

The couple’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas in Dover.
