'Mikel Obi Could Miss Champions League Clash'

Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi sustained a knee injury in the match against Everton on Sunday, which might lead to his absence for Chelsea's opening Champions League match against Basle on Wednesday.

Mikel had a treatment on the knee injury on Monday, after he made his first start in the league against Everton

Despite the fact that Mikel joined the blues in training on Tuesday morning, his right knee was still strapped/supported with tape down the back of the knee.

The blues already mourns Ramires, who was dismissed in the Uefa Super Cup match against Bayern Munich. Chelsea lost the match on penalties, after a 2-2 result after the whistle was blown.

FC Basle lost to Chelsea which aided the blues to winning last season’s Uefa Europa League.

Frank Lampard who was absent in the clash against Everton last Sunday, may have to be recalled into the starting line-up.
