A Piece Of Advice For Women From Deputy Governor of Lagos State

Building a carrer is not an excuse for a woman to give up her responsibilities at home, says Lagos State deputy governor, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.

Speaking at the National Women's Summit at the Kakanfo Inn, Ibadan, Oyo State, on the topic 'Women, achieve your full potential,' the deputy governor noted that, though pursuing carrer is commendable, any woman's personal growth is greatly affected by her success at the home front.

Those women who are focused on making an impact in our society must start first by managing their homes effectively, she said. To achieve full potential and develop, women must first take care of their home, ensure their husbands are comfortable. By doing this, a woman will win her man's heart and support.

Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire disclosed that she has been in politics for over 25 years. She admits it would have been impossible had she not managed her home front well.

She advices women to "drop your ego and pride and ensure that the home remains the focus."

Furthermore, the politician motivated women to seek empowerment in any skill which could aid them unleash their full potential. She also urged women to ensure that the girls get the best of education to reduce the number of illiteracy among women.
