Officer Danjuma Ibrahim was the most senior officer
involved in the notorious Apo Six case. He was roundly indicted by
testimony from five of the co-accused and eight other police witnesses
who accused him of ordering the killings. The co-accused are Othman
Abdulsalami , Nicholas Zakaria, Ezekiel Acheneje, Baba Emmanuel and
Sadiq Salami.
They are charged with the killing of Ifeanyi Ozor, Chinedu
Meniru, Isaac Ekene, Paulinus Ogbonna, Anthony Nwodike and Augustina
Arebun. There are some very interesting points about this case that
should be noted...
1) The police tried to say the victims were armed robbers
who fired first but a judicial panel of inquiry set up by former
President Olusegun Obasanjo rejected the police's story and the
government apologised on behalf of the police for their killings.
2) Police witnesses called at the inquiry testify that the victims were gruesomely murdered in cold blood.
3) The police armourer admitted weapons were planted on bodies.
4) It was all over a girl. Scorned by a lady he fancied,
Ibrahim's pride was hurt and he retaliated by killing her and her
friends.
These are all verifiable facts and you can check them for
yourself. Where is Danjuma Ibrahim? Why has the police and the
government stayed silent on this matter? Why are we all carrying on like
nothing happened? It could be you or yours tomorrow.
