Kano Pillars have successfully defended their Nigeria Premier League title having emerged champions of the 2012/13 season despite going down to a 2-0 defeat to Lobi Stars in their last game of the current campaign.
The 2-0 defeat suffered in Makurdi nonetheless, Pillars finished top of the log with 63 points while Enyimba finished close second with 62 points after beating Sharks FC 1-0 in Aba.
Bayelsa United sneaked in third place with 61 points and El-Kanemi Warriors came fourth with 60 points.
This is Pillars third league championship, and they along with Enyimba will represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Champions League.
